Obituary of Gordon D. Roy
Age 83, of Lakeview, Michigan, died November 13, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. The funeral service will be held on 11:00 am, Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Gordon’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Gordon was born on November 1, 1934, in Flint, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Frances (Fraunstock) Roy. Gordon and Eva Austin were united in marriage on June 27, 1959, in Flint. He graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1953. He worked for General Motors for over 40 years, until retiring in 1993. He was also a private pilot of a single-engine airplane. He was a long-time member of UAW local #651. In his free time, Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to McDonald’s, doing yard work, working on his car, and reading the newspaper.
Left to cherish his memory, wife Eva, two children: Brian, and Lisa Roy; brother, Charles Roy; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents.
