Obituary of Nancy A. Proffer

Age 69, of Vassar, passed away August 25, 2017, at her home. The memorial service will take place 1:00 pm, Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. 

Nancy was born May 7, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Ewanda (Unger) McKee. She and James Proffer were united in marriage on November 9, 1968. Nancy ran an AFC home business out of her home for 17 years. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and watch Sci-Fi television shows. 

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Jennifer Marlow and partner, Christopher Hopper and Craig and wife, Stacy Proffer; four grandchildren, Makenzie, James, Tyler and Lucas; sister, Barbara and husband, Goetz; brother, Bob and wife, Carol McKee; Aunt Jean McKee and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James.
