Obituary of Benjamin Grzemkowski
Age 71, of Reese, died Friday, July 28, 2017, at his home. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 31, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Family and friends will gather for an Eagles Memorial Service on Monday, at 7:00 pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Ben’s memory towards the Vassar Eagle Auxillary. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Ben was born December 29, 1945, in Detroit, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and Joanna (Zalut) Grzemkowski. He attended Reese High School, graduating with the class of 1963. Ben was a Vietnam Veteran, where he did maintenance on aircraft for the United States Marines. After returning home, he was employed by General Motors as a Welder. Ben was a member of the Vassar Eagles for 20 years and enjoyed riding Harleys, fishing, hunting, and playing pool.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marsha Grzemkowski; children: Ben Jr. and wife, Lisa Grzemkowski, Michelle and husband, Larry Perez, Stephen and wife, Chris Grzemkowski, John and wife, Andrea Grzemkowski, Andrea Grzemkowski and Don Porter, Patrick and wife, Melissa Keating, Christopher and wife, April Keating, Tamra Keating; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Philip and wife Elizabeth Grzemkowski, Stanley and wife Marilyn Grzemkowski, Susan and husband, Sam Prezzato, Jeannie, and husband, Joe Bissonnette, Carol and husband Terry Born, and Daniel and wife, Melanie Grzemkowski; and 49 nieces and nephews.
Sadly, Ben was preceded in death by his parents, friends Bill Gouine, Robert Rex, Robert Curvin, and Ron Dickerson.
