Obituary of Bernard Lee Groh

Age 95, of Clio, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his family. The family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services- Mt. Morris on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Cremation will follow. Bernard will be laid to rest at a later date in Flint Memorial Park.

Bernard was born on November 24, 1921, in Pinconning, Michigan, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Hugh and Ethel (Ryan) Groh. He married Helen Reaume on August 23, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan. Sadly, Helen preceded him in death in 1996. Bernard resided in Clio, Michigan, for most of his life. He worked for Buick for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He served in the United States Army Air Corp as a test pilot during World War II. Bernard enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, playing the guitar and electric organ, and doing word finds and scratch off bingo tickets.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters: Susan Dellinger from Clio, Michigan, and Peggy and husband, Alan Dodd from Mt. Morris, Michigan; one son: Tom and wife, Brenda Groh from Summerfield, Florida; sister: Jane Stuck from Bay City, Michigan; five grandchildren: Tamara Martin, Mike Holland, Angie and husband, Randy Griffin, Kevin and wife, Jill Harger, and Sandy Groh; five great-grandchildren: Micah Maxwell and wife, Ashley, Josh Maxwell, Sarah Martin, Kohl Sands, and Katie Coates; two great great-grandchildren: Braelin and Jaxon Maxwell; special godson: Tim Morris; and special friend, Delores Peterson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Russ, Jim, and Emory; three sisters: Luella, Dorothy, and Ethel.

Bernard was a very special person and will be dearly missed by all his close relatives and friends.
