VANCE, Robert L. Of Mt. Morris, age 60, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at his home. The funeral service will take place 3:00pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Robertas family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 5:00pm to 9:30pm and Tuesday from 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Family Fund or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born April 16, 1946 in Stamping Ground, Kentucky the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude David and Mattie (Lamb) Vance. As a young man he served in the United States Army and eventually moved to the Flint area. He and Patricia Upperman were united in marriage January 28, 1967 in Burton. Robert was a bricklayer mason by trade, retiring in 1998, and he also worked for GM at the Fisher Body One Plant for over 20 years. He loved to travel, hunt, fish and play Euchre. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Patricia, daughter, Kimberly and husband Jeff Munsell, and their sons Beau and Buck, two sons, James Vance, and son Tyler, John and wife Monica Vance and their children, John Jr., Victoria and Logan, all of Mt. Morris, brothers, George Vance of Lexington, Kentucky, Claude D. Vance, Jr. of Florida, sisters, Mary Mullenix of Stamping Ground, Kentucky, Vina Conley of Gray, Kentucky, and Betty Fightmaster of Lexington, Kentucky, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard, Ray and Ronnie, sisters, Edna May, Marie and Lourine, son, Robert Lee Vance II and granddaughter, Sarah Kimberly Munsell. Robertas family would like to extend a special thanks to the Heartland Hospice for their care and support these past months.
