John W. “Jack” Thompson, age 87, died on February 3, 2018, at Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth. According to his wishes, burial has taken place at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston.
Jack was born October 20, 1930, the son of Mr. & Mrs. John and Mabel (Webber) Thompson. He and C. Louise Day were united in marriage in 1977, in Pontiac, Michigan. Sadly, Louise preceded him in death on November 21, 2016. Jack proudly served his country as a Sargent in the United States Army from 1951 until 1954. He also worked as a press operator for General Motors for many years. In his free time, Jack enjoyed walking his dogs, and he was an avid animal lover.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Cindy (Chris) Fuller, John Thompson, Cynthia McCabe, Mike Carrie, and Marilyn (Ben) Wilheight; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents; sons Douglas and Patrick; and daughter Carolyn.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to granddaughters Katie and Bonnie for all their care and support for their Papa.
