William “Bill” Michael McNaughton, age 78, of Fairgrove passed away Monday, October 22, 2018, at McLaren Flint with his family by his side. In accordance with Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church. Bill’s family will gather at the church on Saturday, to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Fairgrove United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the church. Bill was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on August 29, 1940, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Marie (Batt) McNaughton. He graduated Dondero High School in Royal Oak, with the class of 1958. He was married to the love of his life, Debra Culbert on October 13, 2001, in Kingston, Michigan. Bill, better known as “choo-choo” or “Mick” worked for General Motors in Pontiac as a stock chaser for 41-years, retiring in 2002. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, reading, watching Gun Smoke, and The Andy Griffith Show. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Debra; daughters: Cheryl Murray, and Jennifer Johnson; grandchildren: Michael Murray, Mikayla Bills; special friends: Gary Austin, Larry Murray, and Gary Botos; son, Todd McNaughton, and daughter, Amy Miller and their families; and many other family members and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, and his son Craig.
