Age 70, of Corunna, Michigan, died Friday, May 18, 2018, at his home. In accordance with Ray’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Celebration of Ray’s Life will take place 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Jim Reed will officiate. Ray’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30 am until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ray was born April 18, 1948, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Voler John and Millicent Eleanor (Abbott) Ridley. He graduated from Northern Community High School class of 1967. Ray and Joy (Howard) were united in marriage on June 15, 1967 in Mt. Morris, MI. Ray was an avid car fanatic. He enjoyed going to car shows, working on cars, and tending to his classic 1948 Ford “Grace”. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and building, genealogy, photography, sprint car races, flower gardening, music in the parks, rodeos, “creative” engineering, and even road side shopping. Ray was a man that could fix anything! Ray worked for Chinonis Chrysler as a Service Manager. He worked for Chrysler Corporation from 1964 until he retired in 1995. That same year Ray started a business called Ray’s Spotless Window Cleaning. He continued to enjoy serving his customers up until the end. He valued his customers as true friends. Recently Ray served as a volunteer for Transportation Services, a division of SATA. Helping others gave him a great deal of gratification. This touched the lives of both him and his clients. Throughout his life, he lived by following the “Golden Rule.” Ray was loved by all and touched endless lives. He was a true believer in “Paying it Forward.” Words by Ray “Buzz” Ridley… “Always remember I Love each and all. And likely you! Ray, Ridley Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Joy Ridley; two children, son: Brian and wife, Laura Ridley; daughter: Teresa Ridley; granddaughter: Jaelyn Ridley; brother: Irvin and wife, Georgejean Ridley; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
