Viola Ostrom

Of Vassar, age 92, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009. The funeral service will take place Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00am at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Vassar. Pastor Plocher will officiate with burial to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will be available to receive friends at Martin Funeral Home-Vassar Chapel on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 3:00pm-8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to St. Luke Lutheran Church or charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Viola was born February 17, 1917 in Richville, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Emma (Rogner) Miller. She and Roy Ostrom were united in marriage on May 11, 1940. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1976. Viola leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Floyd and wife, Lois Miller; sisters, Dorothy Bierlein and Arlene Bierlein; sister-in-law, Leona Miller; several nieces and nephews; many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers; Harold, Herman, Alvin, Ruben; sisters, Helen Hecht and Erna Wirth; sister-in-law, Margaret (Miller) Whitley.
