Vern Lemmon

May 22, 1927 — June 2, 2008

Of Mt. Morris, age 81, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Pastor Roger Gedke will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Vern's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until 2:00pm and 4:00pm until 9:00pm. On Thursday morning, Vern will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the Bethany Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Vern was born May 22, 1927 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Mabel (Cooper) Lemmon. He and Shirley Dillon were united in marriage on December 31, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. Vern was the proud owner and operator of Fairhaven Auto for over 35 years. Left to cherish Vern's memory are his children; Donald (Melinda) Lemmon of Clio and Ronald (Leona) Lemmon of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie, Abbie Gale, Maggie Melinda, Elizabeth Joy, Lucas Raymond and Zachary James; great-grandson, Anthony Lee; sister, Linda (Richard) Farnsworth; brother-in-laws, Carl Forster and Rev. Howard Haar and his sister-in-law, Ruth Lemmon. Vern is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Vern was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Shirley; sisters, Geraldine and Judy Lemmon, Delores Haar, Patricia Forster and Wanda Johnson; brothers, Clifford and Richard Lemmon and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Johnson
