Valarie Thompson

Age 71, of Davison, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Grand Blanc. ­­­­Pastor Darius Walden will officiate. The visitation will take place on Saturday, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Sunday, from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Valarie’s name can be made to the family to be used for a charity of the family’s choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Valarie was born February 27, 1947, in Royal Oak, Michigan to Mr. & Mrs. Everett and Doris (Kangas) Sunde. She was united in marriage to Roger Thompson on July 13, 1963, in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Valarie was a selfless, true, strong, and determined woman who cared dearly for her family and Jesus. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother, who always put others before herself. Valarie loved shopping with her children and grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed scrapbooking, camping, playing cards, cooking and traveling to Florida in the winter. She will be truly missed by many family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children: Paul and wife, Kimberly Thompson, Paula and husband, Dave Realy, Heather and husband, Kevin Stephen, Heidi and husband, Daniel Mount, Holly and husband, Jason Sloan; 15 grandchilden: Amanda, Lauren, Lindsay, Aaron, Emily, Andrew, Joshua, Allison, Alivia, Jenna, Katelynn, Jacob, Justin, Alexander, Nathan; four great-grandchildren: Mia, Abram, Ella, Noah; mother: Doris Sunde; two brothers and two sisters: Bernard Sunde, Esther and husband, Don Garton, Erwin and wife, Caroline Sunde and Becky and husband, Charlie Wissner.
