Uldene Calder

Calder, Uldene Beula Babcock Serven Harding went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2008 in Greenville, NC. Funeral services will be held at the Mount Morris First United Methodist Church on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, Mount Morris, Michigan. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects. Uldene was born to Herman and Beula Babcock on Aug 7, 1921 in Mount Morris, Michigan. She was united in marriage to James T. Serven on August 15, 1941, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1979. She married William D. Harding on August 8, 1981, and he preceded her in death September 1997. She married Joseph H. Calder on October 21, 1998. She was a member of the church choir and womenAaas circle at the Mount Morris First United Methodist Church, she also sang with the Flint Council Choir. She and her husbands enjoyed traveling and visiting their children and grandchildren after retirement. She is survived by her husband Joseph H. Calder and her children: J. Gary Serven (Kelly) Midlothian, VA; Kay Smith (Ken) Traverse City, MI; Daniel Serven (Donna) Ozark, MO; Marcia Bigelow (David) Ozark, MO; Bruce Serven (Denise) Clio, MI; Alanna Tess, Mount Morris, MI and Michael Lawson, Annandale, VA; as well as Sandy Calder (Penny) Garner N.C. and Lynn Calder (SAAnke) Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Robyn, K. David, Christine, Beth, Doug, Meredith, Denise, Ben, Steven, Jim, Eric, Stephanie, Greg, Michael, Zachary, Taylor, Cameron, Alex, and ZoA'a, and 20 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include brothers and sisters: Benjamin Babcock (Lynda); Darwin Babcock (Mary); Maxine Cranick; Bud Hutchinson (Hisayo); Doris West; Gail Beauchamp (Bob), Laurena Davis (Wayne); and Lee Whalen (Glenda) many nieces and nephews and dear friends Frank and Jean Rabey and Jim and Lucy Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Beula; mother Laura Babcock, husbands James T. Serven, William D. Harding; brother Norman Babcock; sister Ardis Card and granddaughter Rebecca Bigelow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Morris First United Methodist Church or the Pitt County Dialysis Unit, North Carolina. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
