Timothy William Tinker

Age 63, of Flint, Died Thursday, August 5, 2022, at his home. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Martin Funeral Cremation & Tribute Services in Mount Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning to officiate, with cremation to follow. Tim’s family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Tim’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com. Tim was born June 30, 1959, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Margaret (Corr) Tinker. Tim graduated from Flint Northern High School with the class of 1978. After graduation, Tim worked for General Motors for 31 years, retiring in March 2016. He was an involved member of UAW Local #659. Tim was loving, kind, and generous, always with a story to share or joke to tell. He was happy to help others and donated time and resources to many charitable causes. Tim volunteered at Flint area soup kitchens over the holidays for many years. He loved to travel all over Michigan, making day trips to Port Huron, Bay City, and Traverse City. His favorite things to do were chatting with his friends over coffee and spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews. Left to cherish Tim’s memory are his siblings: Mary and husband, Nick Yaklin, Cheryl and husband, Melvin Elkins, Mark and wife, Mary Tinker; nephews: Kyle and wife, Kelly Yaklin, Eric Schmieder; niece, Michelle and husband, Jim Combs; great-nephews: Dylan, Easton; and great-niece, Grace. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Amber Donajkowski.
