Age 80 of Mt. Morris, Michigan died Friday, February 10, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm., Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church, Pastor Betty Gamboa officiating with burial in Flint Memorial Park. Tomas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris from 12:00pm to 9:00pm Sunday. Monday morning, Tom will be taken to the church to lie in state from11:00 am until time of service at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.\ \ Tom was born July 09, 1925 in Memphis, TN., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Boonie (Gardner) Poe. Thomas and Velma Miley were united in marriage on May 28, 1945. He worked at G.M. as a General Supervisor since 1944 and was a member of the Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church. He was proud of being a Boy Scout earning the Eagle Scout Badge, a Boy Scout Leader in Flint, loved to travel, bird and deer hunt, and fish. He was a Past President of the United Methodist Menas District responsible for supplying a station wagon to the Methodist Childrenas Village in 1950. \ \ Surviving are his wife, Velma of 60 years; children, Judy and husband Edward DaFoe, Lyndia and husband Abdul-Amir Abdul-Wahab, David and wife Romeli Poe, Kathy and husband Joe Brown, Thomas Jr. and wife Stephanie Poe, Mary and husband Terry Snyder; 18 Grandchildren; 2 Great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother, Albert and wife Violet Poe. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Edgar Allen Poe.\ \
