Of Flint, age 87, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at his home. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Larry Survance will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Ted's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ted was born June 29, 1924, in Hellier, Kentucky. He and Christine Adkins were united in marriage March 15, 1944, in Kentucky. She preceded him in death September 20, 1976. He later met Bonnie Gilliam; they dated and were married in May of 1983. She preceded him in death in July of 1997. Ted worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was a proud member of UAW Local #651. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, buying new trucks and enjoyed going out to dinner with his family. Left to cherish his memory are five daughters, Theda (Garth) Hill, Paulette (James) Stafford, Sue (David) Alexander, Dana (Tom) Peck of Lapeer and Beverly (Stephen) Ross; 10 grandchildren, Greg Hill, Kimberly Hill-Lowry, Debbie (Paul) McCann, Michael (Dana) Stafford, Jennifer (Scott) Wiknich, Tina (Brian) Booth, Tony Alexander, Stephen (Naomi) Peck of Lapeer, Joseph and Christopher Ross; 14 great-grandchildren; and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine; second wife, Bonnie; mother, Annabelle; granddaughter, Trisha Alexander; sister, Joanne Burke; and great-granddaughter, Annah Hill.
