Susanna (Day) Bentley

Age 58, of Vassar, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A funeral celebrating Susanna’s life will be held at Martin Funeral Home-Vassar on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 1:00 pm. Pastor Tom Forgo will be officiating with burial to follow in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Friends can gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 9:00 pm and again on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions can be directed to Rainbow Connections. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Susanna was born October 25, 1958, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Earl and Margaret (Balden) Day. She and John were united in marriage on December 6, 1975, in Vassar. Susanna Graduated from Vassar High School in 1976. She received her Associates Degree in Business from the Detroit College of Business. Susanna worked for the Bavarian Inn of Frankenmuth, working as a waitress and she worked in a few doctor offices as a secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, bingo, crocheting, knitting, coloring and going to the casino. She will be greatly missed by many. She is survived by her husband: John Bentley; one son: John Jr. (Crystal) Bentley; three grandchildren: Hailey, John III, and Cassie; one daughter and two grandsons; six brothers and sisters: Roger (Ruth Ann) Caldwell, Kenneth (Margaret) Caldwell, Bertha Sterling, Joyce (Dale) Auenhammer, Michael Day, and Lyla (Charlie) Fabbro; many nieces, nephews and friends. Susanna was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Margaret Day; two sisters and one brother: Judy Hopper, Richard Day, and Carol Ingle. The family would like to thank the support of the community with thoughts and prayers and extended a special thank you to Nurse, Chris and Nurse Aid, Savanna.
