Susan was born in Flint, on February 19, 1948, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Barbara (Walsh) Wildbore. Educated locally, Susan attended Flint Central High School and graduated with the Class of 1966. On June 19, 1971, Susan married the love of her life, Gary Countryman. Their union would be blessed with five beautiful children. Sadly, he preceded her in death on April 27, 2001. When she was younger, Susan was involved in a local church and sang in the church choir as well as participated in the Girl Scout program for many years. Susan enjoyed bowling and was on a league at B’s Bowling Alley for many years. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime, including attending family cookouts. She loved the holidays, with the 4th of July and Christmas being her favorites. Susan was a member of the Clio Senior Center and enjoyed the activities they offered including Bingo and dressing up for costume parties. Shopping was a very large part of Susan’s life. She had many purses and shoes; some even still have tags on them. Susan’s family was her whole world. She loved being a mother and even more so a grandmother. She took care of her grandchildren and half of the neighborhood. She had a special place in her heart for children. Susan could always be found with some sort of chocolate candy as she loved sweets. Susan enjoyed traveling and would spend her summers in Virginia. She could often be seen sitting on her front porch drinking coffee or tea, listening to her wind chimes. She always looked forward to going on rides with her friend, Judy. In her free time, Susan enjoyed cross-stitch and word searches. In Susan’s honor, the family would like each person in attendance to join with them in wearing an ugly Christmas sweater. The family would like to extend a special thank you for taking such great care of their mother to the staff at Davita Dialysis in Flushing. Left to cherish Susan's memory are her children: Gary and wife, Sandra Countryman, Michelle and husband, Rickey Moon, Penny Stanfill, Bobby and wife, Jennifer Countryman, Lynn and husband, Dan Howko; grandchildren: Patricia, Sue, Christopher, Ebony, Brittany, Breanna, Christina, Eric, David, Melissa, Alyson, Ashlee, Alyssa, and honorary grandson, Joshua Larkin; many great-grandchildren and grand dog, Dot; siblings: Larry and wife, Karen Wildbore, Kathy and husband, Warner Criner; special friends: Judy Hendon and Amy Combs. Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Countryman, Sr., granddaughter, Julie, her parents, and mother-in-law, Lena Lively.
