Stanley "Lee" Robertson Jr.

February 12, 1938 — November 5, 2015

Stanley “Lee” Robertson, Jr., was born on February 12, 1938, to Stanley and Alice (Creager) Robertson. He grew up in Flint and Deckerville, spent time in the Thumb area, and later graduated from Beecher High School in 1958. He attended Flint Junior College for a year then enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962. He was stationed in Germany. Upon discharge from the military, he returned to his parent’s home in Clio where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Janet Larsen, on June 22, 1963. He was employed as a Childcare Supervisor at Whaley Children’s Center. His love for antiques began in 1965. In 1978, he retired from Whaley to pursue his career as an Antique Dealer. This passion took him all over the country but one of his most favorite places was Brimfield, Massachusetts. His eldest son, Brad, was bitten by the antique’s bug and joined him in the business in 1990. Lee was still actively doing antique shows and selling antiques until the day he died. He also enjoyed planting flower and vegetable gardens, growing house plants and some of his plants are family heirlooms dating back to the 1800’s. During the summer he enjoyed camping with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Janet; three children, Brad Robertson, Bryan (Heather) Robertson, and Elizabeth (Clarence) Elston. He adored his six grandchildren: Moussa, Gabriella, and Clay Elston, and Nicholas, Katelyn and Emily Robertson. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandson due in March 2016. He also leaves behind a brother, Ernest (Ann) Robertson and a sister, Janelle (Gary) Owens, many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. As he was referred to in the antique world, “Kind Lee,” will be loved and missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carriage Town Ministries or Bethany UMC Youth. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home, church or online at www.martinfuneralhome.com
