Of Caro, age 89, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at home. Bud was born October 15, 1919 in Pontiac, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto and Ruby Koch. He served three years with the Civilian Conservation Corps near Munising and enlisted as a private in the Army on December 26, 1939. Bud served in the Alaskan Defense Command at Dutch Harbor, as well as with the Fifth Army in North Africa and Italy. On June 15, 1942, he and Gladys E. McLellan were united in marriage at Novesta Church of Christ in Cass City. Bud and Gladys both were Docents for the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum. Bud worked for 23 years at the Caro Regional Center in various positions and also served as an instructor for the Saginaw Bay Power Squadron. He was also a member of the D.A.V. Military OfficerAaas Association and the 88th Infantry Division Association. Bud leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 66 years, Gladys; children, Stanley AaA"BudAaA II and wife Beverly Koch, Diane and husband Cal Black and David and wife Dena Koch; many grand, great and great-great grandchildren and sister, Virginia Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mabel Wright and brother, Harry Koch. The funeral service will take place 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove. BudAaas son-in-law, Cal Black will officiate with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery. BudAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00 noon.
