Sidney H. Foster

Age 92, of Mt. Morris, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. A funeral service will take place at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, 1194 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell to officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Sidney's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:30 pm. Sidney Harold Foster was born on October 20, 1932, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Angus and Alma (Welhaf) Foster. He met, fell in love with, and married the love of his life, Evelyn Euper on September 22, 1951, in Flint, at the office of the Justice of the Peace. Their marriage would be blessed with three beautiful children, to whom Sidney cherished deeply. Sadly, Evelyn preceded Sidney in passing on April 22, 2021 after 70 years of marriage.

Sidney worked as a relief repairman for Buick for 30 years until his well-earned retirement in 1982. He was a long-time member of UAW local #599. In his free time, he enjoyed keeping his mind and his hands busy with any tinkering he could find, jerry-rigging just about anything. He was especially fond of spending time in his “Man Cave”, where he would fabricate furniture, small pieces, and much more. Sidney was also fond of his John Deer tractors, specifically his Model B. Most of all, Sidney was known for being friendly to a fault and was memorable to all he met. Sidney made a great impact on everyone in his life, leaving everyone with pure kindness and joy. 

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Dan and Don Foster; his three grandsons: Daniel M. and wife, Tracy, Jason, Brian; his granddaughter: Angela; his nine great-grandchildren: Felicia, Alicin, Nathan, Kaylee, Matthew, McKenzie, Jacob, Emma, Mya; his seven great-great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law: Wanda.

Sidney was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Evelyn; son: Sidney M. Foster; and his siblings: Angus, Wilbur, Arthur, Gloria, and Maxwell.
