Shirley Larkin

Age 86, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at McLaren - Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Martin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Thetford Township Cemetery. Shirley's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Shirley was born May 8, 1926 in Genesee County the daugther of Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. and Eleanor (Young) Scott. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1944. Shirley and William Rockwell were united in marriage November 29, 1946. He preceded her in death October 31, 1997. On December 12, 1997, she married Leo R. Larkin and he preceded her in death December 12, 2004. Shirley was a branch secretary at Citizens Bank in Mt. Morris from 1945 to 1978. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, where she sang in the choir, the Flint Banjo Club, the Red Hats and she volunteered at McLaren Hospital's Cancer Center following Leo's death. In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tending to her flowers and was an avid golfer for years. Left to cherish her memory are, her brother, Francis "Bud" Scott, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends, especially the "Good 'Ole Girls." Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, William and Leo, three sisters; Marion, Jeanette and Charity.
