Sheri Samassa

Age 56, of Holly, died Thursday, March 7, 2019, at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 am, Monday, March 11, 2019, at the Church of the Holy Family in Grand Blanc. Fr. Joseph J. Krupp officiating, with cremation to follow. Sheri’s family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Grand Blanc, on Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. On Sunday evening, family and friends will gather at 6:30 pm, for a Life Celebration Service, honoring Sheri, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Monday, Sheri will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:30 am, until time of Mass. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Sheri was born, May 5, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven and Patricia (Palencak) Miele. She and Richard Samassa were united in marriage in 1986. Sheri was a dedicated wife and mom, who worked in their family business while raising her children. She volunteered countless hours for school events and activities in which her children participated. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family, scrapbooking, race walking, and physical fitness. Sheri leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Rick; daughter Megan and husband, Connor McIntosh; son, Nicholas Samassa; sisters, Michele and husband, Michael Miller, Tracy and husband, Michael Ragland, Debbie and husband, John Walter, and Denise and husband, Rick Selley; several very special nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Delana and husband, Tom Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents.
