Sandra K. Powell

Age 75, of Flint, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at home. A funeral service will take place at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell to officiate. Sandra’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm. Sandra was born in Flint on June 18, 1948, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Virginia (Bird) Azelton. Educated locally, she graduated from Flint Northwestern High School with the Class of 1966. Sandra started her career working at General Motors on the Assembly Line where she worked for 30 years until her retirement. Sandra was almost never at home as she enjoyed going out and spending time with those whom she loved, whether it was at garage sales, craft shows, or car shows. She was a caregiver and took great care of those she loved most. Sandra loved shopping for jewelry and had multiple rings for every finger. Sandra enjoyed spending time potting and tending to her flowers. In her free time, Sandra enjoyed reading mystery novels or romance novels and completing crossword puzzles. Her cats were her pride and joy and she loved them like family. Sandra was a doting mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Sandra’s memory are her son, Roger and wife, Crystal Chandler; grandchildren: Samantha and husband, Russell Culver, Grace Chandler; great-grandchildren: Parker, Jack, Blake; siblings: Charles “Biff” Azelton, Renee and husband, Cameron Gwinn, Corry Perrin, Julie and husband, Dennis Beaver, Amy and husband, Charles Seeley-Lewis, Amanda Jones, Mollie Jones and husband Duane Tackabury, Andrew and wife, Lisa Jones, Steven and wife, Valrie Jones; sister-in-law, Kimberly Navarre; best friend: Jan Chandler; beloved cat, Toby; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Matthew Jones; best friends: Sondra Masters, Delores Stebbins, Marian Azelton.
