S. Don Watson

Age 83, of Clio, died peacefully Sunday, April 9, 2017, at McLaren-Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Mt. Morris Church of Christ, 1262 South St. Mt Morris, MI. 48458. Jim Watson officiating with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Don’s family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Wednesday, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Thursday morning, Don will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to a charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Don was born April 7, 1934, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Shirley and Sibiness (Tillie) Watson. Don graduated from Flint Central High School, where he was an All-Star Athlete. He married the love of his life, Bette Zoromski on June 9, 1962, in Flint. He was a supervisor for Kaumagraph in Millington for many years until his retirement. Shortly after retirement, Don began working for NEIS as an Insurance Inspector, traveling throughout the state of Michigan. In his free time, Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Bette; four children: Debbie Lutz, Don Watson, Stacy (Jerry) Mahan, and Bryan (Krista) Watson; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Tillie (Larry) Stone, and Peggy (Bill) Powers; and many other family members, in-laws, and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Jerry Watson.
