Ruth Dunn

Of Saline, age 86, died Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Evangelical Home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Flint.Rev. Pete Scribner will officiate with burial to follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. Ruth's family will be present at the Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris to receive friends on Monday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Tuesday, Ruth will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Calvary Presbyterian Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ruth was born March 3, 1927, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Nettie (Miller) Babcock. She and Bernard Dunn were united in marriage August 16,1946, in Mt. Morris. Ruth graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1945. "Red" was a member of the Cornheads and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon and Elder for 50 years. She worked at Engineer Products Company for over 20 years until her retirement in 1988. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, taking care of her family, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling, having family gatherings and fishing. Left to cherish her memory, husband of Bernie Dunn; three children: Bruce (Diane) Dunn, Jeanette (Barry) Swartz and Vivian Heidtman; brother Dr. Wendell Babcock; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces nephews and friends. She joins her parents, brother Dwayne, sister Donna, and granddaughter Renee in the promised land of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
