Age 55, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at his home. In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Ronald's tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com. Ron was born in Flint on January 20, 1965, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Shirley (Carroll) Smith. Raised in Mt. Morris and educated locally, Ron graduated from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School with the Class of 1983. After graduation, Ron went on to technical school to further his education at the National Institute of Technology, graduating with his Associate's Degree. During the 1990s, Ron served his community on the Mt. Morris City Fire Department Station 44. He then went on to work for Ollie Fretter as an electronics repairman and also worked at Mark’s Place in Mt. Morris for several years before going into the construction industry. Ron was a proud member of the Eagles Auto City Aerie #3485. In his free time, Ron enjoyed music, singing, and karaoke. Left to cherish Ron’s memory; parents: Edward and Shirley Smith; two brothers: Dennis and wife, Cherie Smith, and Larry Smith; sister in law, Cindy Smith; nieces and nephews: Elizabeth, Joshua, Jacob, Adam, and Melissa Smith, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Smith; grandparents.
