Roger was born on June 18, 1938, to Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin and Irene (Sexton) Wright. Educated locally, Roger graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation, Roger proudly enlisted in the United States Navy from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959 and went on to the reserves until 1966. Roger was a hard-working man, and at a very young age, he started working mowing lawns for his neighbors. Upon his return to the States, Roger worked for Hamady Brother’s Grocery Store before beginning his career at Buick, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1996. Roger met and married his beloved wife, Elizabeth Hopkins, on December 15, 1961. Sadly, she preceded him in death on April 26, 2005. He then married Eileen Garvais, who also, sadly, preceded him in death on August 18, 2017. Roger was reunited with his teenage sweetheart, Ruth Ann, in his later years. Roger enjoyed doing woodworking projects and making things with his hands. He was a self-taught handyman who loved helping people with projects around their homes. Roger enjoyed staying active. He suffered for over 45 years from Crohn’s Disease. For the last 6 years, he has been on dialysis three times per week. He has fought hard to keep moving from one day to the next. Roger loved his family and was a great caretaker of them. He instilled a great work ethic in his children and taught them to be hard workers. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Roger’s memory are his six children: Constance “Connie” Summers of Burton, MI, Anne (Russ) Mundon of Ligonier, IN, Theodore “Ted” Wright of Syracuse, IN, Dianna Jones of Frederick, MD, Paul Wright of Mt. Morris, MI, Marilla (Mike) Magid of Syracuse, IN; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers: Virgil, Dennis, and Bob; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wives: Elizabeth and Eileen; brothers: Ranford and Duane Wright; sister, Brenda; son-in-law, Robert Jones.
