Rodrigo Solis

Of Mt. Morris, age 81, went to be with Our Lord Saturday, December 1, 2012, at McLaren-Flint. The funeral service will take place 10:30 am, Thursday, December 6, 2012, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe in Flint. Rev. Cecilio Reyna will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Roy's family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm. On Wednesday evening, family, friends and parish Thursday, Roy will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:30 am until time of Mass at 10:30 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Rodrigo "Roy" was born November 19, 1931, in Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Agapito and Herminia (Gonzalez) Solis. He and Delfina Rodriguez were united in marriage on May 10, 1950. He worked for Texas Highway and General Motors. Roy was a caring and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking and gardening. Left to cherish his memory wife, Delfina; 6 children; Sylvia and husband, Tony Fierros, Rodrigo, Jr. and wife, Elia, Juan and wife, Gretchen, Agapito, Enrique and Daniel Solis; 12 loving grandchildren; 9 loving great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his son, Celestino, parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Roy's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire McLaren-Flint ICU 5th floor staff for the care they gave him.
