Rodney Fritz

Rodney Dale Fritz, age 52, of Clio, took his final journey to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 6, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 pm, Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 5375 W. Mt. Morris Rd. Mt. Morris, Michigan. A private burial was held at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Gideons International, or to Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the church. Rodney was born October 14, 1963, in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Dale and Sarah “Violet” (Swartz) Fritz. Rodney graduated from EAJ High School in Mt. Morris, Class of 1982. From there, Rodney would continue his education at U of M – Flint earning a Master’s Degree in Accounting. He married Denise McCullough on August 27,1994, in Mt. Morris. He worked as a Plant Analyst for General Motors for 30 years, retiring June 1, 2016. In his free time, Rodney participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint Program and Prison Ministry Programs. He was a longtime member of the Mt. Morris Mennonite Church, and a Sunday School Teacher for 19 years at Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory, wife Denise; sister, Marlene (John) Heffernon; sister-in-law, Debbie (Terry) Bloodworth; brother-in-law, William McCullough, Jr.; five aunts: AnnMae, Niomai, Grace Swartz, Iris McGahan, and Lillian Pentland; nephew, John Patrick Heffernon, two nieces: Katie(Mike) Ford, and Sidney (Justin) Bittner; three great-nephews: Asa Bittner, Hudson and Pierce Ford; great-niece, Ona Lee Bittner; and dearest friends, Don (Marlene) Bernard. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Sarah “Violet” Fritz.
