January 18, 1940 — December 20, 2010

Of Montrose, age 70, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park with graveside military honors. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 12:00noon until the time of service at 2:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born January 18, 1940 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil and Rosie (Redman) Kelley. He and Janet Goldie were united in marriage July 4, 2010. At the age of 17, Robert would proudly join the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1957-1961, and then serving in the Reserves for a period thereafter. Later, he would work for General Motors for 30 years until he retired in 1991. Robert was kind, generous, caring, and would reach out to those in need; he will be greatly missed. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Janet; four children, Robert and wife, Mitsy Kelley, Janice Gibson, Colleen and husband, Paul Putney, and Gloria and husband, Tim Keith; six step-children, Anthony Conrad, Teresa Conrad, Kathryn and husband, Karry Menosky, Pamela and husband, Mike Littlejohn, Patricia and husband, Jeff Whitting, and Stephanie Koza; nine grandchildren, Jennifer and Shawn Gibson, Wayne Putney, Timothy, Steven, and Brian Keith, Derrick Accornd, Christopher Kelley, Jimmy Wilkerson, and Jeff Wilhelm; three great-grandchildren, Kiley Gibson, Jasmine and Bobby Putney; mother of his children, Jeanette Kelley; three sisters, Lillian and husband, Leonard Eaton, Goldie Eaton, and Rose Vaniver; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Cecil Jr.
