Richard O'Connor

Richard “Rick” O’Connor, age 65, died November 10, 2018, at Fostrian Manor in Flushing. Funeral service will take place 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev, Fr. Anthony Brooks will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Rick was born on August 1, 1953, in Flint, Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. Richard and Dolores (Culhane) O’Connor. He graduated from Beecher High School. Rick went on to attend Central Michigan University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in ­­­Education. He worked for Beecher Schools as a math teacher for many years before working for General Motors Metal Fabrication as a Millwright. Rick was a football and wrestling coach for Beecher schools. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family, riding his motorcycle, and the outdoors going camping, hunting and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his son: Sean and wife, Kristyn O’Connor; two grandchildren: Aaron and Mia O’Connor; father: Richard O’Connor; six siblings: Patrick, Mark, Christine, Debbie, Bryce, and Pauline; and many nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores, and sister, Michelle.
