Rhonda Kay Mckee

April 15, 1949 — April 21, 2022

Age 73, of Mt. Morris, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at home with her family by her side. In accordance with Rhonda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Hopewell General Baptist Church. Pastor Bud Welton to officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hopewell General Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the church. Rhonda was born in Paragould, Arkansas, on April 15, 1949, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Pearlene Maggie (Skaggs) Dacus. On October 25, 1986, Rhonda married the love of her life, Larry McKee, at the United Brethren Church in Mt. Morris. Rhonda worked on the assembly line for General Motors until her retirement in 1985. Rhonda was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family for many years. She loved her church family at Hopewell General Baptist Church and was very involved and active in the church. She liked to socialize and get together with her church family. Rhonda loved to eat and try new foods. She liked many varieties of food with the exception of German dishes. She found a little place that made her favorite dessert of chocolate-covered raspberries. Rhonda had a love for horses and used to raise and board them. Fishing was another one of her favorite pastimes. She would fish anywhere there was water, from Arkansas to Michigan’s Great Lakes. Rhonda enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, and spending time at the beach. She was a hugger and had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Left to cherish Rhonda's memory is her loving husband of 36 years, Larry McKee; children: Shannon and husband, Michael Johnson, Kitrick Brian and wife, Laura Tyson; grandchildren: Charley and husband, Mitchell Lowe, Avril Tyson, Amber Tyson, Arya Tyson; great-grandchildren: Ayden, Carter, Malena; best friend, Merryanne Rodgerson. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Brenda.
