Reginald “Regi” was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 15, 1940, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Julia (Lick) Bradford. Educated locally, Regi graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1960. On September 19, 1961, Regi proudly enlisted in the United States Army. He was a part of the 7th Cavalry Brave Rifles Unit and was honorable discharged on September 6, 1963. Upon his return to the States, Regi started his career working at General Motors, Buick division, where he worked as an injection molder for 32 years, until his retirement in 1996. Regi met and married the love of his life, Judy Brown on May 29, 1965, in Battle Creek. From that day on, they were inseparable. Regi was known for his love of hard work, and he loved to build and work on cars. He even built an addition to his home. Regi loved to take his family camping every year and his favorite places were Burt Lake State Park, Heft State Park, and Cheboygan where he could see the bridge. He also spent many years camping, canoeing, and kayaking on the Rifle River. Regi enjoyed fishing anywhere he could find water. He also loved to cut down trees and cut wood for his fireplace so he could sit and watch the fire while enjoying his Westerns or watching cartoons. His favorite pastime was shopping at Menards, Harbor Freight, or Northwoods. There was always something he just needed. Regi was a wonderful man who enjoyed everything about life and his family. He was always getting caught feeding hard candy to his dogs and his great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
