Phyllis Strand

Of Clio, age 82, died Monday, November 17, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral Service will take place, 2:00 pm, Friday, November 21, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services with cremation to follow. Private burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park at a later date. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Thursday, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 11:30 am until time of service at 2:00 pm. Phyllis was born June 19, 1932, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Edna (Beaubien) Goff. She and David Norman Strand were united in marriage in Mt. Morris; sadly David preceded her in death on April 13, 2002. Phyllis and David owned and operated Azure Acres Blueberry Farm and Strand Studio in Clio. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, socializing at Azure Acres Blueberry Farm, vacationing at the family cabin on Barney Lake and Hawaii. Left to cherish her memory are four children, Kristina Strand and husband, Ian Darke, David and wife, Sally Strand, Dale Strand and Karen Skytta; eight grandchildren, Erin and Kevin Darke; Maggie and husband, Chad Martell, and Meredith Strand; Miah and Jacob Strand; and Justin and Miles Skytta; and two brothers, Stanley and Duane Goff. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; daughter, Maja; and her brother, Acil. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at U of M Hospital, the entire NICU staff at Genesys Regional Medical Center and the staff at Hospice Advantage.
