Age 60 of Bowling Green, Kentucky formerly of Flint, died on January 5, 2015, at Passions Continued Care in Port Huron. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Friday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Chaplain Tony Ferriell will officiate with cremation to follow. Phillip was born in Flint, Michigan, June 20, 1954, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Winferd "Peck"and Barbara (Smith) Bishop. Educated locally he graduated from Beecher High School in 1971. He would go on to work for Buick and was a member of the UAW # 599 for many years, before transferring to the Corvette Plant, where he was a member of UAW # 2164, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Auto City Eagles # 3485. Phillip enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, bowling, darts and working on cars. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Leisa and husband, Pete Miller, Phillip L. II and wife, Tarah Bishop, Candida Bishop, Jason and wife, Deanna Bishop and Angelica and husband, James Leach; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert and wife, Vickie Bishop, John and wife, Kim Bishop, Michael and wife, Barb Bishop, Richard and wife, Judy Bishop and Marsha and husband, Ben Grzemkowski; several nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David and fiancée Dawn. The family would like to thank the Staff of Passions Continued Care & Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion given to our Dad.
