Of Vassar, age 94, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church in Fairgrove. Pastor Daniel Gonder will officiate with burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Friday, Paul will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Giddians or Fairgrove United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Paul was born January 17, 1919, in Gilford, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Elizabeth (Kemeny) Nagy. He and Doris McCloy were united in marriage April 20, 1940 in Fairgrove. Paul worked as a farmer for his entire life. He also served Tuscola County in numerous government positions. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. After retirement, he and Doris spent 20 winters in Arizona. Paul was an active member of Fairgrove United Methodist Church, the Fairgrove Lions Club and the Gideons.. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years, Doris; five children, Janice Moore, Judy Zwerk, Sarah Jane and husband, Thomas Eurich, Paul M. Nagy Jr., and Barbara and husband, David Abbgy; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Emery, William, Joe and Frank; and sisters, Elizabeth and Ethel.
