Paul Guthrie Jr.

Age 49 of Akron, died Saturday, October 11, 2014, at McLaren Bay. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove. Burial will follow in Gilford Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Thursday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Paul was born July 11, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sr. and Janet (Schmitt) Guthrie. He worked in the agriculture industry for Mantey Seeds and Michigan Sugar. He and Dawn Hartman were united in marriage on July 11, 1992. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and woodworking. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dawn; three children, Paul III and wife, Juanita Guthrie, Nathanial and wife, Jessica Guthrie and Carmen and husband, Patrick Laabs; five grandchildren, Corey, Marissah, Gavin, Brady and Michael; mother, Janet Guthrie; Godchildren, Zachary and Tyler Karle; siblings, Dawn and husband, John Wilding, John Guthrie, Brian Guthrie, Roger Guthrie, Kim Periso, and Jadie Periso; special cousin, Rodney Schmitt and several aunts; uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws; and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; brother-in-law, Frank Karle, Jr. and nephew, Adam Wilding and several aunts and uncles.
