Patricia Belanger

Age 79, of Clio, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at McLaren-Flint. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 30, 2017, at SS Charles & Helena Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Frances Faraci to officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on, Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm, on Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Mt. Morris. Patricia will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am. At 6:00 pm on Saturday, The Clio American Legion #158 Ladies Auxiliary will officiate a poppy service, at the funeral home. Family and friends will pray the rosary at 6:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home. Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Patricia’s memory may direct them to St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Mrs. Belanger was born November 28, 1937, in Flint to the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas and Marjorie (Blue) O'Brien. She and Harold Belanger were united in marriage on February 23, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Together they shared nearly 60, wonderful years together. Patricia graduated from St. Mary School with the class of 1956. She was a member of the American Legion #158 Women’s Auxiliary, as a card lady. She and Harold would love to camp and fish all over Michigan. Patricia was known to her family as a master seamstress, and enjoyed painting, reading and doing the crosswords. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harold Belanger; three children: Sandra and husband, David Miller, Amy and husband, Steven Gibbs, Jerold Belanger, and fiancée, Holly Keros; two grandsons: Steven Gibbs, Eric Gibbs; two granddaughters: Lauryn Gibbs, and Kristian Belanger; two sisters-in-law: Sandra O’Brien, and Maxine Stiffler. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Tom O’Brien.
