Of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Thursday, December 24, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Norman’s family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp. on Tuesday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Wednesday morning, Norman will be taken to church to lie in state on 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Wounded Warriors of America. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Norman was born in North Jackson, Ohio, on September 4, 1929, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence and Barbara (Holt) Carraher. Norman and Klara Pohlen were united in marriage on August 16, 1952. Sadly, she preceded him in death October 28, 2012. Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a lineman for Consumer's Energy for 32 1/2 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post 1452, Eagles F.O.E. Post 3609, Moose Lodge, and the 40 & 8. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Heidi (Peter) Dowd, and Rita (Albert) Smith; five grandchildren, Kelsey (Dennis) Watson, Kerrie (Lonnie) Atwell, Brian Smith, Jason (Laurie) Smith, and Patrick (Lisa) Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Shane Heckman, Krystle (Sean) Wright-Loveless, Tessa Watson, Riley, Abby, Addison, Alex and Alexis Smith; one great-great grandson, Levi; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Klara and beloved son, Donald Patrick Carraher.
