Neva Marie Rosa

Age 76, of Mt. Morris, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at her home with her family by her side. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Jeff Lee to officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, July 16, 2021, and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Neva was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, on September 9, 1944, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Angelina Catherine (Talentino) McKerchie. Educated locally, Neva graduated from St. Mary High School with the class of 1962. She was born and raised with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Neva was proud of her heritage and enjoyed camping with her family at Sherman Park in Sault Ste Marie. She started her career working at O’Tooles and PX Restaurant before opening her own catering company named J&R Catering, which she owned and operated until her retirement. Neva could often be found in a casino. She was not particular on which one, she loved them all with video poker being her favorite. In her free time, Neva enjoyed bowling, bingo, and playing pogo. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime. She will be greatly missed. Left to cherish Neva's memory are her children: Shelly and husband, Scott Livesay and Brent and wife, Jennifer Rosa; grandchildren: Jonathan and wife, Nicole, Amberley, Andreya and husband, Robert, Justin, Brendan, Brian, Brooklyn; great-grandchildren: Colton, Wyatt; sister, Judy Gilkes; very close friend, Pam Hilton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Neva was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Roxanne Rosa; brothers: Jim McKerchie and Bob McKerchie.
