Nelson Lewis

Of Akron, age 73, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Bay Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Martin Funeral Home - Fairgrove with burial to follow in Blumfield Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 11:00 am until the time of service. Nelson was born October 10, 1940 in Fairgrove, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton and Alma (Brickman) Lewis. He and Evelyne Arlene Philpot were united in marriage December 22, 1962 in Unionville. Sadly she preceded him in death in 2007. Nelson worked for the Eaton Foundry for 33 years. In his free time he enjoyed watching sports, bowling and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are children, Robert Humpert, Karl Humpert, Brenda Keller and husband, Gary, Duane Houghteling and Lesa Lewis; grandchildren, Tyler Cooper, Joey Humpert and Jami Princing; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Princing, Brinleigh Princing, Joey Humpert Jr. and Caleb Humpert; sister, Gloria McFarland and special family members Rascal and Blondie. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyne and son, Larry Humpert.
