Nellie was born in Shawneetown, IL, on March 15, 1939, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Mary Capeheart. Nellie met and married the love of her life John Tony Holbrook. She worked as a cook most of her life. Nellie loved to cook and was great at doing so. She was known for her famous fried chicken dinner and the delicious jelly she canned. Nellie had an amazing vegetable garden that took up her entire backyard. She loved having fresh vegetables to feed her family. Nellie was a wonderful mother that loved to sew. In fact, she even made all her children’s clothing as they were growing up. Nellie enjoyed attending the small-town Baptist church in Indiana when she lived there several years ago. She also enjoyed taking her children to the Holloway Reservoir, where they would all go fishing. Nellie had a big heart and would always take care of other people. We wish you Godspeed. We will miss you and love you always.
