Of Vassar, age 86, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Tender Care of Frankenmuth. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Pastor David Wermuth will officiate with burial to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday November 22, 2013, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm then on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Vassar Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Milton was born September 10, 1927 in Twining, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Evelyn (Smith) Jaynes. He and Edna Gillies were united in marriage on October 7, 1960, in Brown City, Michigan. He served three years in the United States Navy. Upon his return he attended Bay City Junior College and worked for Buick for 34 years. He was a Mason and Eastern Star. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, traveling, watching television especially Michigan football, and golfing at Willow Springs in Millington. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Edna Sarah Jaynes; daughter, Catherine Richardson; son, M. David Jaynes and wife, Cindy; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Claude Kenneth Jaynes; many neices; nephews; cousins; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Moore; brothers, Allen Jaynes and Henry Jaynes; and sister, Margaret Sipes.
