Mildred Rappley

June 14, 1918 — February 19, 2010

Of Fenton, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Turner House Inn. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. Pastor Matthew Rappley, grandson, will officiate with burial in Flint Memorial Park, with Graveside Military Honors. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, and Monday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. On Tuesday, Mildred will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Mildred was born June 14, 1918 in Davison, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judson and Cora (Allen) Morey. She and Grant Victor Rappley were united in marriage June 23, 1942. She was a World War II Army Nurse stationed in Italy, and continued nursing until her retirement in 1982, from General Motors. Mildred was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris for many years. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Donna Bradshaw, Russell and wife Kathie Rappley, and Karen and husband Kelvin Kilbourn, six grandchildren, Marcena and husband Sam Hamady, Nicholas and wife Nani Rappley, Theresa and husband Sean Jacques, Matthew and wife Jenny Rappley, Jim and wife Julie Bradshaw, and Bryant Kilbourn, eight great grandchildren, sister Ivabelle and husband Francis Barton, sister-in-law Eleanor Morey, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, parents, and four brothers.
