Melvin Powers

Of Burton, age 94, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The Memorial Service will take place 1:30pm, Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor George Richards will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Melvin's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:30pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Shirley Henson, Mary (Ron) Walker and Helen M. Fisher; son-in-laws, Wallace Keely and Robert Lang. Melvin is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, friends and his special friend, Andrea Hendrix. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Waneita; his daughters, Marlene Keely and Beverly Lang; his granddaughter, Suzanne C. Lang and his brothers, Richard M. and Emmett B. Powers.
