Maxine Johnson

Of Sterling, age 74, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Martin Funeral Home Aa" Vassar, with cremation to follow. MaxineAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 12:15pm until time of service at 2:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Maxine was born December 30, 1934 in Tacoma, Washington the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Beatrice (Plane) Leonard. She and Melvin Johnson were united in marriage July 14, 1979. Maxine leaves to cherish her memory her husband Melvin; seven children; Candy (Vince) Huizar, Tina (Kelly) McTaggart, Michael L. (Barbara) Johnson, Patrick D. Sr. (Colleen) Johnson, Sherry (Delson) Summerlot, Theresa Ryan, Michael Denny; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters; Maybelle, MaryJane, Virginia; her brother David; several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lyle Decker, Charles (Tommy) Leonard, granddaughter, Jessicca Wellman.
