Maurice Williamson

Of Vassar, age 67, died Thursday, March 14, 2013. Cremation has taken place with burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Parkinson Foundation or to the Vassar Lions Club. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Maurice was born November 18, 1945, in Port Huron, Michigan, the son of Joy and Bonnell (Enfield) Williamson. He and Elaine Volmering were united in marriage August 26, 1972. Maurice proudly served as a CW04 in the United States Navy for 28 years before receiving his honorable discharge in 1992. He worked for Vassar Public Schools for 25 years before retiring in 1997. Maurice was an avid University of Michigan fan, he enjoyed watching sports, collecting coins and playing cards. Left to cherish his memory is his wife; two children, Scott and wife Jennifer Williamson, and Korina Williamson; two granddaughters, Morgan and Haley Williamson; siblings, Andrew and wife Bernedette Williamson and sister LaLonnie and husband Bernard Chope. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents.
