Matthew Lesko

Age 59, of Vassar, died, Sunday, February 18, 2018, at his home in Vassar. A funeral celebrating Matthew’s life will take place 11:00 am at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar on Friday, February 23, 2018. Matthew’s family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 8:30 pm and again on Friday morning from 9:00 until the time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Matthew’s name can be directed to the Redeem Children a ministry for the children of Haiti. Matthew was born on January 17, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Edward and Marleah (Chardon) Lesko. He graduated from Vassar High School. Matthew and Jeanette Wazny united in marriage on September 11, 1999, in Frankenmuth, Michigan. He retired from Penske Truck Leasing and devoted his time on the Lesko Farm. Matthew and his wife belonged to Hope Community Church of Frankenmuth, where Matthew served as a deacon and was a regular greeter at the door. He was a part of a small group at church. He loved spending time with his family at any occasion. He was well known for his pig roast. In his free time, Matthew enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, going out to the movies or dinner, watching football games, and going to auctions or surfing the internet for great buys. He will be missed by many family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife: Jeanette; seven children: Jeremy and wife Bobbi Lesko, Eric and wife Jackie Fuller, Kristine and husband Mike Burch, Scott Fuller, Danielle Lesko, Stephanie Lesko, and Adam and wife Kimmi Lesko; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 5 siblings: Jennifer and husband Keith Lawrence, Edward and wife Debra Lesko, Dennis and wife Rheta Lesko, Deanna and husband Scott Martin, and Leonna Kaiser; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Matthew is preceded in death by his parents.
