Of Flint, age 76, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home.. The funeral service will take place, 11:00am, Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Carl Cooke will officiate with burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery, with full military honors. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm., and on Monday, from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastwood United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Marvin was born April 18, 1933 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon and Violet (Spears) Boger-Hendricks. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Marvin leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, June Slavik, who was his dedicated care giver for many years, and friend, Bill Williams, three grandchildren, Shannon, Jamie, and Crystal, several great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, sisters Norma and husband Llyod Sturk, Marie Beaton, Shirley and husband Floyd Shaffer, and brothers, John and wife Elizabeth Hendricks, Gerald and wife Peggy Boger, several nieces and nephews,many friends, including special friends, George Bailey, Red Johnson, Keith Walters, and Dale Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, James M. Boger, son in law, Tilly Slavik, and brother, Lyndon Boger Jr. The family would like to extend a special thank you to McLaren Hospice, Eastwood United Methodist Church, as well as family and friends, for all of their prayers, love and support.
