Marie Koon

Marie Koon, age 88, of Mt. Morris, died on Friday, April 13, 2018, at her home. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Service of Mt. Morris. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am Tuesday morning. Marie was born in Flint, Michigan on February 1, 1930, to Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and Sybil (Hoover) Miller. She went on to graduate from Flushing High School. Marie Married the love of her life Richard Koon. Their union brought about one son Michael. Sadly Richard died on January 26, 2004. Marie devoted herself for 60 years as the Manager of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. In her free time, Marie enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino, shopping with her sisters, and spending time with her family. She was also an active participant in the March of Dimes. Marie is survived by her son: Michael and his wife Lani Koon; grandchildren: Michael Koon II, wife Shelia; Ryan Koon, wife Ashley; Amy Koon-Taylor, husband Jason; nine great-grandchildren: Michael III, Morgan, Hailie, Jake, Luke, Amy, Karlee, Kollin, Kurstyn; three sisters: Rose Sparks, Carol Soni, Judy Kozolowski, and husband Ken. Preceding Marie in death are her parents and husband. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Marie’s name.
